Amplifying Community Voices on Objection to Granting of Mining Licence to ARM Cement PLC
This morning, Human Rights Agenda[HURIA] met with community members from Maereni, Chauringo, Pangani whose parcels of land are covered under the mining licence applied by ARM Cement plc. The communities had an opportunity to air their grievances against the company through the media who were also present during the meeting.
Through mediation, advisory sessions, referrals we resolve public grievances on alleged threatening, violations, abuses and infringement of human rights. We will continue to investigate, document and expose human rights violations and abuses and increase their visibility through special reports and use of alternative and mainstream media.
Human Rights Agenda[HURIA] will continue supporting and sustaining community efforts towards a clean and healthy environment.
