Human Rights Film Festival

While short films and videos have gained greater audience in recent past, HURIA in partnership with stakeholders intends to focus on creation of short (Max 10 minutes) videos on peace, security and conflict resolution. In  response to the increased insecurity within the coastal region, HURIA will through a Film Festival, target to reach out to both online and offline audiences on peace, security and stability massaging.
HURIA hopes to do the film festival on 28th April 2018, targeting at least 20 entries and 500 participants. The best videos will be awarded trophies and will be screened and showcased in Peace and Security film festival and other activities.
The Videos/short films will be showcased and vetted during the festival and HURIA will pick and award the best (10) short films with a strong provocative educational massage.
In sustaining the efforts on improving security, HURIA will use the best films in its social media campaign strategy on online platforms as well as showcase the educational videos to offline audiences. In widening the scope of the educational videos, HURIA will target identified community members, schools and institutions of higher learning in each county and will project the videos to the target audiences to provoke discussions on Human Rights, Peace and security. A total of (500) targeted offline audiences will be reached in each County. HURIA will use this festival as a way of nurturing talents and sustaining local film industries.
